"I Feel That Many Studios Are Just Business Rooms" Upcoming Rapper Addresses The Kenyan Hip Hop Scene!

With new rappers rising by the day as old rappers come back to life, Hip hop has become one of the most competitive genres since the first history book tasted ink. Yet in spite of the genre having such a long history, some of the music acts in the genre don’t seem to understand what it entails hence ‘kill’ the genre with every verse they lip; what we call ‘whack rappers”.

So one upcoming rap act, has felt the need of more than doing a diss track. He saw it best to do it the old fashioned way and with a quill paper and pen, he wrote this open letter about the state of hip hop in Kenya. Here’s Clay Breezy’s piece of mind on HIP HOP:

Born & raised in Eastlands this is not a fairytale. Most online big names are just spoilt rich kids with tons of money to waste on
meaningless non-relatable rhymes.

Y'all been rapping about hustle and struggle like they know something. I am not hating, I am simply stating and thisis not just any statement,so kindly internalize and interpret. I've been through a lot of s**t, I've screwed up many a times but my talent keeps me motivated.

I'm not throwing unnecessary shade, but I feel that many of the studios up in this m***f***er are just business rooms and we all know money can't buy skills. I am calling out everyone who knows they can hold a pen and write lyrics.

I rap in the hood not for fun but because I can't get that opportunity to hold the MIC with all this western culture wannabes. I started recording with a headphone mic and still do. I hope this changes one day and I know when that day comes I'll be the greatest that ever lived!

2pac and B.I.G were the greatest and so will I. The only difference is that, THIS IS HIPHOP & I AM IT'S ONLY HOPE.

I AM HIPHOP. God give me the strength...'nough said!
