Lilian Mbabazi Shares Her Fondest Memories With Mowzey

Lilian Mbabazi is not only famous for her timeless hits but her love story with the late Ugandan artist Mowzey Radio.

She recently revisited her love life which ties to her artistic career with Mowzey and she admits that he was a great father to their two children.

Mbabazi hasn’t stopped loving him even after separating and his subsequent death in 2018.

Speaking during a Tusker Malt Conversessions appearance recently, the ‘Dagala’ singer said that she gave it her all in their relationship.

Unknown to many, they mutually agreed to go separate ways and raise their two children.

"Moses and I had a very unique relationship. I loved that man with all my heart, but there was a time things went wrong. We had to separate. It was a mutual decision. We sat down and agreed to raise our children,” she remarked.

All she wants now is for them to have a better life with the best memories of their dad.

“I want our children to remember their daddy in a different way, not what I experienced during my time with him," she said.

How did they meet? Their love story traces back to the university. Mbabazi and Mowzey Radio, shared a course unit at Makerere University in Uganda.

While Mbabazi was pursuing social sciences, Radio was studying psychology. Interestingly, they had a psychology unit that fell under the social sciences program, allowing them to study together.

Despite their academic connection, the two did not start dating until five years after their initial meeting at Makerere University.

Mbabazi later revealed that Mowzey Radio played a significant role in her music journey, being highly influential.

Mowzey contributed to some of Mbabazi's popular songs, including 'I'm in Love,' 'Vitamin,' and 'Wiggle Wiggle.'

He wrote these songs for Mbabazi who for a long time inspired his music career. Mbabazi during the same interview delved into her unique approach to music creation.

She described it as timeless music with the potential to become a perennial hit at any given moment.

Mbabazi emphasized that her ultimate goal is to produce music that withstands the test of time, carrying her legacy at times no one imagines of.

“I believe that [the] music that I create most of the time is timeless," she asserted adding it doesn't matter what time my music takes," she it's always going to have the effect it has to have."
