Award-winning South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has kicked off 2024 with a profound resolution – to 'obey the Lord and know him.'

The 'Doc Shebeleza' hitmaker, known for his vibrant presence in the entertainment industry, is shifting away from the spotlight to focus on his newfound spiritual journey.

Nyovest's transformation began in 2023 when he had a life-changing encounter with God, leading him to a deeper understanding of his Christian faith.

The rapper has since been transparent with his followers, sharing the personal and spiritual insights gained during this transformative period.

In a symbolic act of commitment, Nyovest recently shared a short clip on his Instagram stories, capturing the moment he underwent baptism in a pool. He said this public declaration of faith signals a significant shift in his life and career

He said that upon reflection, he has realised that obeying God, and continually seeking his guidance in life is the only thing he wants to do in life.

The South African artist urged his followers to follow suit and do the needful spiritually.

"I’m excited at seeking God’s face, which is the most important thing because we are spiritual beings," he expressed.

Quoting Proverbs 8:32, "blessed are those who keep my ways," Nyovest conveyed his earnest prayer to align with God's word, seeking His face, and deepening his connection with the Lord.

Explaining his recent social media absence and reduced public appearances during the festive season, Nyovest revealed that he discovered the importance of blessings beyond material wealth, power, and fame.

He remarked that it requires a deeper, spiritual outlook on life.

"I went through a reset. I realized what life is. And my purpose in this life. And I am not ashamed to say that my soul was washed by the blood of Jesus. I am not ashamed of the gospel,” he added.

Fans flooded his social media with supportive comments, encouraging him on his spiritual journey.

Some even suggested the possibility of the rapper exploring gospel music in 2024, further fueling speculation about the new direction his career might take.
