If you’re old enough and not too old, then the name Awilo Longomba should bring back memories; memories that should consist of waists shaking and disco lights.
The Congolese musician is one of the most notable proponents of the Soukous music genre which gained an increasing international acceptance not only in Africa, but the rest of the world; this was back in the late nineties and early two thousands.
Longomba started out as a drummer, but quit in 1995 to pursue his first love, music. Has released four albums to date. Now lives in France. He has been on an artistic hiatus but if YouTube is anything to go by, then the Legend is back and this new piece is his new face: ‘Bundele’
