Being a celebrity, mother and career woman in the music industry comes with a fair share of betrayal and Yemi Alade captures it all in her new upcoming song ‘Fake Friends’.

She is set to release this new song in the next 10 days. The ‘Johnny’ hitmaker says that life and situations have taught her a hard lesson about real and fake friends.
Speaking of her musical art, the Nigerian singer/songwriter draws on her love of music and African ancestry to guide her creative process.

Yemi Alade gets inspiration for her music from her life experiences and also those of other people around her.
Once done with her lyrics, she fuses traditional African rhythms with modern music and other influencing genres among them dancehall and Amapiano.
Yemi Alade’s music will always start with a subject that speaks to her; be it societal challenges, personal experiences, or embracing African culture.

She experiments with various melodies, chord progressions, and instrumental which always gives her a perfect vocal arrangement with varying harmonies and styles.

In ‘Fake Friends’ she tackles both a societal and personal issue in an entertaining way but gets the message across.
It will be a follow up to her latest EP ‘African Baddie’, a 10-track project with amazing Afrobeats-dancehall tunes.
