Ghanaian rapper Black Sheriff has finally broken the ice on constant comparison to Sarkodie by several quarters.
Speaking to UTV Showbiz, Black Sherif popularly known as Blacko said it is pointless and unfair for anyone to make that comparison.
The debate came up following his collaboration with Sarkodie on his recent album ‘Jamz’.
He now says that despite his success in the industry, Sarkodie is a big name and brand that no one fits other than him.
Blacko noted it was irrational to compare him to Sarkodie who has over 10 years in the industry and he [Blacko] is a newbie.
“Sarkodie is a big artiste, he has been doing this long ago before me, and he is a veteran but I just started, the comparison is senseless,” he said.
He told his fans that even without his verse on Sarkodie’s ‘Country Side’ single off his ‘Jamz’ album, the song would still have blown up.
This was the genesis of the comparison between him and Sarkodie that has Ghana’s hip hop industry talking endlessly.
“My verse on the Jams album doesn't change anything, it would've still been big without me. Music is spiritual and I didn't foresee the future of the album,” he stated.
