Celebrated Kenyan musician cum politician Jaguar and his close friends raised Sh. 1 million for veteran rapper Colonel Mustafa. This comes a few days after Mustafa pleaded with the public to help him raise funds for the treatment of his mother who is suffering from cancer.

Mustafa during the press conference where Jaguar broke the news to the public could not help but get emotional. He expressed gratitude to various stakeholders who came out to support and comfort him. Among the celebrities who took part in raising the money were; KRG The Don, Jalang'o, Robert Burale, Kris Darlin, Nameless, King Kaka, Ringtone, Mzazi Willy M Tuva, Chipukeezy, Big Ted and, Johnson Sakaja.

Jaguar recounted his long-term friendship with Mustafa, citing that they knew each other even before fame.

"Mustafa knew me when I was a young man. He is the one who told me where Ogopa Studio was. There is no day he told me he was in need because I would have come to his rescue. He is our brother, and we formed a group with other friends and raised almost a million,” Jaguar stated.

The former Starehe MP further added that they will help Mustafa to rekindle his music career. Mustafa and Nasty Thomas shot into fame as members of the Deux Vultures music group. Together they released numerous hit songs and rose to become one of the most sought after Hip Hop group in East Africa. Later on, Mustafa pursued his music career as a solo artist after parting ways with Nasty Thomas.

The award-wining rapper gradually faded away from the music scene leaving his fans curious and worried. It was until recently when a video which showed Mustafa working at a construction site emerged online, that many came to know about the challenges that the rapper was facing.

Some of Mustafa's biggest hit songs while in Deux Vultures and as a solo artist include; 'Adhiambo C', 'Kapatikana', 'Mufupi', 'Katika', 'Mahewa', 'Lenga Stress', 'Hey Baby', and 'Mtaani Dot Com'.
