Celebrated Nigerian artist Tiwa Savage is making headlines once again following her invitation to perform at the coronation of British monarch King Charles III on May 7. 
She becomes the first Nigerian to earn this global feat set to go down at London’s Westminster Abbey. 
The ‘Stamina’ hitmaker will join a star-studded group of performers at the Big Lunch coronation concert on Sunday. 
She will perform alongside global artists among them, Steve Winwood, Olly Murs, Lang Lang, Pete Tong, and Paloma Faith. 
The event’s organizers said they picked Tiwa Savage for to perform in this historic event because of her talent as a performer with a distinctive fusion of Western and African and music.
“We are excited to announce that Tiwa Savage will be performing at the coronation concert alongside other world-class musicians. Tiwa Savage is an exceptional artiste with a unique blend of African and Western sounds. We are confident that her performance will add colour and excitement to the event,” they said in a statement. 
Her invitation to Windsor comes after she was awarded an honorary doctorate in music by the University of Kent in July 2022.
Tiwa Savage has an affinity for London after leaving Nigeria for this British capital for her high school and varsity education. 
She discovered her musical gift here and it turned around her life. Being in London shaped her music dream.
