Ghanaian gospel star Piesie Esther has expressed her displeasure with certain quarters that call her an old artist.
Esther, famous for Wa Ye Me Ye ' hit said that she has taken issue with this reference because no one has a right to use that description.
She claimed that there is no such thing as an ""old musician"" and added that musicians never retire.
“Of course. I feel hurt by that since we are humans. It will definitely hurt you,” she told FiiFi Pratt who hosted her for an interview at Kingdom FM.
She is one of Ghana’s veteran artists with over 20 years in the game and is quite successful in her music career.
‘Wa Ye Me Ye’ put her on a pedestal and she is currently enjoying massive airplay on TV and radio.
She is also a seven-time nominee in the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
A few months ago, she advised aspiring artists to put in a lot of work and wait for God's timing rather than trying to get famous right away.
She stated that the main goal of any gospel artist should be to lead people to Christ, and that once they do, God would definitely open up more opportunities for them.
