Die Hard Gor Mahia Fan Wins 23 Million SportPesa Jackpot

Die-hard Gor Mahia fan Stephen Ojwang’s life changed for the better as won the SportPesa Midweek Jackpot, becoming an instant millionaire.

The 50-year old from Siaya managed to correctly predict all 13 games in the Midweek Jackpot and won an astounding KSHs 23,027,939.

During his unveiling on Wednesday afternoon, Ojwang’ expressed his happiness and gratitude to SportPesa as he continued to state that he is not done yet.

“I did not even know that I had won the jackpot. Usually I place 6 or 7 bet slips and then I forget about it and just wait for the final results.

“Biggie from SportPesa called me to alert me and two minutes later, my wife called me and shouted that we have won,” he told SportPesa’s Blog.

The businessman from Siaya County has been playing with SportPesa for the last 4 years and admits that the only money he had won before the jackpot victory was KSHs 1,000.

That win came from placing a bet on his favorite team in the country, Gor Mahia FC, as they beat Nairobi City Stars in a Kenya Premier League encounter.

“I can never forget my friends mocking me after I won the 1000 bob and that’s why my wife is the only person who knows when I bet because we share the account.

“I used to place one or two bets to try and win the jackpot and then I increased to placing between five and seven to improve my chances of winning the jackpot. I am happy it has paid off,” said the Nairobi-based businessman.

“My first spend will be to my church where I will contribute some of the money because you cannot win this without the hand of God,” he added.

The last time the Midweek Jackpot was won was in December last year when Kevin Makokha was fortunate enough to predict the outcome of all 13 games.

The Kamiti-based mason correctly predicted the outcome of all 13 games in the pot to win a handsome KSHs 15,003,352 to usher in the new year in style.

Ojwang claims his football analysis skills have improved with time and is happy over the resumption of top leagues this weekend which will make predictions easier.

This, he adds, is because of familiar teams in various fixtures, as he now trains his eyes on winning the SportPesa Mega Jackpot that currently stands at KSHs 296,077,611.

“That Mega Jackpot, I am coming for it. In fact they should just write my name on the cheque and wait for me to win it.
