Mavin Records boss and producer Don Jazzy has addressed claims of using streaming farms to manipulate the numbers and streams of artists under his record label.

Don Jazzy spoke out following a tirade of criticism by fans online calling him out for rigging stream counts in favour of his artists. However, the Mavin boss asserted that there is no such thing as a "streaming farm" in his business. He said those propagating such claims are envious and do not put in the time and effort his artists employ to make their songs successful.

"All these side talks of there is a form of streaming farm somewhere, makes you become lazy. Go and create beautiful music and do all you need to do to market your songs,” he said in a recent media interview.

He added that it’s deceitful for a section of people to think that he manipulates his signees’ music streams while, in reality, they put in the work to make good music.

His advice: “Don't sit down there and be assuming 'this person is getting here because there's a streaming farm somewhere'. Trust me, it's just going to be affecting you. You will be thinking that it's unattainable. You cannot get it. Ogbeni, you are doing yourself a disservice."

The issue of using stream farms to manipulate streams, numbers and chart positions has been an ongoing discussion in the Nigerian music space for a while now. Artists like Blaqbonez have been quite vocal about it. In a recent related tweet, the 'Shut Up' rapper said it was only a matter of time before platforms catch up with the perpetrators of stream farms.

"One day these platforms would catch you streaming farm guys, and then everyone would know the yahoo artists from the real ones. continue," his tweet read.
