Nigerian gospel music icon Mercy Chinwo has released a new single ‘Confidence’ off her soon-to-be-released EP ‘Elevated’.

In her usual spirit-filled and melodic voice, Chinwo unleashes powerful lyrics in this song coated in beautiful production courtesy of Israel Dammy. She reaffirms her confidence in the word and the promises of God. Each day, she sings, she wakes full of faith that God always has her back. 

“My confidence is in you (Is in you) I put my trust in you (Trust in you) Jesus I’m not alone, You’re with me (You’re with me) ‘Cause one with you is majority Ahhhh My confidence,” the chorus goes.

The Nigerian songstress famed for ‘Excess Love’ reveals that ‘Confidence’ came as a result of trying times in her life that forced her to completely rely on God. Although she was a firm believer in the gospel, she came out of her sticky situation having learnt that confidence in God’s mercies always works. 

She further notes that ’Confidence’ is a call to action for her followers who have been impatiently awaiting the release of this song to focus and believe in God. 

"You surrounded me like a shield My shield and buckler Fairest of ten thousand to my soul Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! That’s why I am not worried You’re with me I’m not alone Yes I’m covered Looking unto Jesus Author and finisher of faith I’m at rest because I have you I have you I have everything,” her first verse goes.
