Burna Boy to Perform at the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final

Award-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy will be performing at this year's Champions League final in Istanbul. 

The ‘Its Plenty’ singer will entertain football fans at Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium at the UEFA Champions League Final Pepsi Kick-Off Show on Saturday, June 10, 2023. 

UEFA elatedly broke the news on Twitter and fans’ reaction was overwhelmingly supportive. 

“Big news! @burnaboy will be performing at the Champions League final in Istanbul alongside another amazing headliner!” the Thursday tweet read. UEFA also attached a separate tweet where Burna Boy invites the world to the finals.

“Hey everyone, this is Burna Boy and I’ve got some big news. I will be performing at the UEFA Champions League Final Kick-off Show by Pepsi C’mon Let’s go,” he says in the short video. 

One of his fans made an interesting observation. 

“Imagine Burnaboy performing and Osimhen scoring the winning goal and Napoli winning the champions league, Naija things,” Felix said. 

Vote Prince Bassey Otu added: “See Burna Boy is the biggest artist in Africa. Top 3 in the world. If you like come and cry and about your fav being the best, I'll just ignore, period.”

In February, Burna Boy, Rema and Tems made history by becoming the first Nigerian artists to perform at the NBA All-Stars game weekend. The UEFA Champions League Final performance is another feat for the Grammy Award winner who is carrying the torch of Afrobeats and making sure has a very good musical representation on the global scene.
