‘Gangster Romantic’ EP by Lojay isn’t just another music project for him. It carries a lot of personal relevance for him which he expresses in a seven-track EP that is now the talk of the town. 

Growing up in the streets of Lagos pushed him to the downs of life yet he had no choice other than pushing through and rising above all this to become a better person. Lagos’ streets aren’t for the faint-hearted, he told Apple Music Africa Now Radio during a past interview. It was this hard life that pushed him into realizing he was emotionally and psychologically stronger than he ever thought he was. 

A key takeaway in all of this is that the hard life he experienced in the city left no room for him to be romantic thus the naming of his second EP ‘Romantic Gangster’. The repeated heartbreaks by people he gave his heart to toughened him up and he slid the door closed with nothing to offer from his heart. He tells his fans that the sophomore EP is a personal project which he holds dearly. 

“This body of work is so personal to me and it means the most to me that I get to share it with you all,” he posted on Instagram. ‘Romantic Gangster’ features celebrated South African Amapiano duo DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Hero.
