Veteran Kenyan musician Francis Amisi, better known as Frasha, has announced retirement from the music industry after an outstanding 23-year-old career. In a statement that he shared with the public through social media, the singer and songwriter revealed why he chose to retire from the industry at this time. He pointed out that 23 is a magical number to him, therefore, he saw it fit to hang the boots on the 23rd, of February 2023 which is also his birthday.

Frasha has invited his fans and other stakeholders in the music industry to his last public show which will double up as his birthday party. He further expressed gratitude to music lovers who supported his career.

"23 is a magical number for me, 2023 is a magical year for me and 23rd is when I bid the game goodbye officially. Thursday 23rd, 2023 will be my last public show and also my birthday party. Come join me as give the last bow and celebrate my musical career,” Frasha's statement read.

Frasha made his debut in music as part of a hip-hop group known as P-Unit. The three-man band shot into the limelight in 2010 courtesy of the 'Wagenge Hao' album. The 17-track album housed some of their greatest hit songs including 'Kare', 'Nikesh' and 'Patra' among others. In 2011, P-Unit dominated various music charts courtesy of their viral 'Gentleman' song featuring Sauti Sol.

Frasha alongside Gabu and Bon-Eye took their careers to the peak in 2012 thanks to their record-breaking hit song 'You Guy (Dat Dendai)'. The controversial song accrued a lot of viewership and placed the band in the headlines. The three music stars cemented their reputation in the history of Kenyan music through many other hit songs such as 'Weka Weka', 'Love', and 'Mobimba' among many others.
