Mavin Records superstar singer Ayra Starr is yet to come to terms with the instant success of her 2022 release, "Rush".

Now at 96 million streams on YouTube, she says that it is emotional for her and she doesn’t know how to react once the song clocks 100 million views. She maintains that the huge success she is currently enjoying is nothing close to what the village girl from Agbado Ijaiye would have dreamt of.

“I really don’t even know what I’m gonna do when rush hits a 100mill on YouTube, do I cry, do I jump?? God 2 years ago I was just a small girl from Agbado ijaiye,” she tweeted.

In a previous interview with Cool FM, disclosed that the song was a way for her to comfort herself through an episode of uncertainty she was battling. She disclosed that creating the song gave her confidence, which is why it is all about her showing herself that she can be responsible for the choices she makes in life.

“When I made Rush, I was in a phase where I was unsure of myself. And I grew up, a confident person. I felt like everything was someone else’s idea, it wasn’t me, so I wanted to find myself, be in charge, take agency and that’s when I made Rush,” she recalls.
