Nigerian Afrobeats superstars Tems and Burna Boy will be performing at the 2023 NBA All Stars on Sunday, February 19. 

The duo are part of Halftime Show performers who will grace the event to be held at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

It comes against the backdrop of Burna Boy’s Love Damini alum silver certification in the UK. It is his sixth album with big songs such as ‘Last Last’ and ‘For Your Hand’ featuring UK pop singer Ed Sheeran. 

For Tems, performing at the NBA All Stars comes shortly after winning a Grammys Award. She bagged the coveted award courtesy of Future, an American rapper who featured her and Drake in his hit song ‘Wait For U’. 

The inclusion of the Nigerian duo in the event is a further statement on their viability as African artists on the international stage. 

NBA All-Star is held every year and it brings together the best players from the National Basketball Association (NBA). It is considered one of the most prestigious basketball events in the league because it showcase great talents across the basketball league. 

These players are drawn from the Western and Eastern conferences and the selection process is rigorous. It involves media voting by fans and players alike.
