Kenyan music star Bahati has released his first song of the year 2023 dubbed 'Nowe Sweety' featuring popular vernacular singer Joyce Wa Mamaa. 'Nowe Sweety' is a phrase in the Kikuyu language that loosely translates to "It Is Only You Sweety". The track is a love song in which the two artists express immense affection for each other.

The new release is part of Bahati's strategy of expanding his fanbase to local music lovers by singing in various vernacular languages. The singer's fluency in the Kikuyu language warmed the hearts of many. The majority of the fans praised his commitment and investment in learning the language.

The audio of the song has been produced by Teddy B under EMB Entertainment. Despite the track being a Kikuyu song, it does not bear the Mugithi music signature beat. This twist creates a unique flavor in the song that attracts a wide audience including those who do not speak the language.

The music video, on the other hand, has been directed by Young Wallace. Given the theme of the song, the video director chose a rural location for the video shoot. The rural location combined with the traditional dressing of the vixens compliments the message of the song.

'Nowe Sweety' has enjoyed a warm reception among music lovers. A section of the fans admitted to being taken by surprise by Bahati. Bahati has promised to make this year one of the most productive and successful ones in his entire music career. Fans are, therefore, anxious to see what else he has in store for them.

Previously, Bahati released 'Abebo' featuring Prince Indah. Similarly, this was a love song in which the star artist sung in the Luo vernacular language. The song went viral and has since its premier gained millions of views and streams.
