EXCLUSIVE: Should We Slip In This Special Day Into Our Calendars?
22 April 2015
Someone had to write about it. MAYBE WE SHOULD...
Each week we have at least two special days flagged on our online calendars. Music Monday, Hump Day and so on….I now propose a new day - Internet day! And, on a second thought let me rename my day. Suppose we call it Internet Providers Day.
If you are a devoted net user this is your day; your big day! For on this day you pull your name off the loser’s list and you tack it up on the winner’s list. (see bottom)
On this day you are a friend to your best affordable net service provider. No confetti, no parades but you feel great. No presents, but just to keep it going get your device some data, because what do you feel so great about? The fact that you can save money!
When looking for the cheapest ISP and not just affordable but trustworthy, choosing between different options can be a headache, especially with the aggressive advertising campaigns around.
I’ll tell you my story; I am a data guzzler, rather addicted to the net. I try to stop but my hands and body can't get off the computer, I don't have the power to do it.
I’ve tried different plans and different ISPs, maybe just like anybody else. But who’s reliable? I figured it out recently, the best way to answer my question is to draft what best suits me when choosing a provider.
I narrowed my focus to answer three simple questions: How fast is the connection? I am I getting the most out of my money? What about being bullied?
Connection Speed: This is not as crucial as it was 2 or 3 years ago. Most providers are 3G and more now, very comfortable with it.
Getting the best out of my money: If I buy 1GB, it’s supposed to be 1GB. If my network is disconnected before I’m done, I feel cheated. Trust me, I know about gigabytes than Silicon Valley does.
Being bullied: Do not place dark restrictions on how I’m using my data. Once I've paid for the bundles, I should be left alone. Someone phrased it better; If I go into a supermarket and buy 10Kgs of Sugar and pay for it, what business does the supermarket have in deciding what I can do with the Sugar?
In comparison to other instruments, I found Airtel a bit more honest and cheaper. It would therefore be foolish for me to wait to join the team. Not the best option but better than the alternatives.
Use this chart as a reference point. An amazing deal that will be perfect for anyone who uses the Internet frequently, because even their most expensive plan should fit inside the tightest budgets.

So, should we make that Internet Providers Day Official?
