1 November 2022
Kenyan songster Nadia Mukami has expressed gratitude to Kenyans for supporting local musicians. The music star took to her social media pages where she wrote a detailed statement on how crucial domestic support is for artists.
The 'Si Rahisi' hitmaker highlighted the success of the recently held Oktoba Fest, citing that it was a manifestation of the growth of the Kenyan music industry. She, however, partially blamed the media for not publicizing the success of the event.
The mother of one noted that a positive consistency of the trend will welcome foreign corporate into the Kenyan music scene. She urged her fellow artists to keep working hard to raise the music standards.
"They will not Write or publicize how yesterday Kenyans really showed up for an ALL Kenyan line-up! Thank you so much Kenyans for showing us your support! It means the world to us and we do not take your support for granted. We promise to keep working on our craft to be better & fly the Kenyan Flag Higher," Nadia Mukami stated.
" If our industry keeps getting this kind of support from Corporates and us as artists we keep working on our craft we will get there!! It is not a one-day job!" she added.
The sentiments were received warmly by social media users. The majority of them agreed that indeed the Kenyan music industry has the potential to grow beyond the borders.
