Ghanaian gospel artist Diana Hamilton has surprised many with a confession that it took her two years to write her all-time record-breaking song "Mo Ne Yo.”

“It took me about two years to write it.  I know when I started and when I went into the studio with it,” she recently opened up to Andy Dosty in an interview on the Daybreak Hitz show. She implores that music for her is about sending a message and it takes time in some instances to package this message in the right way. For her, studio time is never a gamble.

“It’s either I have the message or I don’t. And I don’t want to be in the studio without knowing what to do", she says. With all her success in the industry, Diana says her motivation in the music industry has nothing to do with awards. However, she notes that despite not giving awards any thought when recording a song, she always values the honour because it signifies that people love and appreciates what she does.

She further notes that self-confidence is a value she treasures and every award in her music career is a testament to hard work. “I don’t do a song with an award in mind. We are just working. If an award comes then it’s my time, if it does not come then it’s not my time. With that in mind, it does not matter what happens in the system.”

Diana has numerous national and international awards. At the 3Music Women's Brunch, she was presented with the 2021 Most Streamed Female Act of the Year Award. She was also listed in the Top 30 Most Influential Women at the 3Music Awards Women's Brunch in March 2021.

With her song "Adom," she won Artiste of the Year and Gospel Artiste of the Year at the 2021 Ghana Awards. Following the release of her 2022 single ‘My Meditations’ she is grateful that fellow gospel artists have supported her greatly.
