The Kenyan music industry has received a dose of new hit songs from top-established artists. The new songs have shaken up various music charts and climbed up the ladder to displace some of the songs that were holding top spots. The new releases have cut across various genres including Hip-Hop, gospel, and drill music among others.
Here are the top newly released songs in Kenya;
Road To Greatness - Femi One
Celebrated Kenyan female rapper Femi One continues to cement her reputation as the Queen of Hip-Hop music with her back-to-back releases. Her latest song 'Road To Greatness' has enjoyed a warm reception among her fans online. Femi One, through the song which has been produced under Kaka Empire, displays pure mastery and skill in delivering punchlines. It is not just the flow of the song that gets one hooked to it, but the heavy message that is delivered in the song.
Nitume - Jaguar Ft. Ambassada
Veteran singer and songwriter Jaguar has made a grand comeback in the music industry with a new song dubbed 'Nitume' in collaboration with Ambassador. Jaguar took a break from music after he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Starehe Constituency in 2017. In August 2022, the singer announced his exit from the political scene citing that he had decided to go back to music.
'Nitume', a gospel song that preaches about Christians being used as a vessel by God, is the first song from Jaguar in a long time. The star has been welcomed warmly with the song gaining more than half a million views on YouTube within a short time.
Karma - Tanasha Donna Ft. Barak Jacuzzi
Kenyan songstress Tanasha Donna in collaboration with Barak Jacuzzi has released a new hit titled 'Karma'. The song presents a smooth fusion of RnB and Hip-Hop genres. Tanasha takes the first half of the song with her melodious voice before Barak Jacuzzi joins her in the second half. The two artists enjoy seamless and effortless chemistry that makes the song a masterpiece.
This is the second song from the duo after their first collabo 'Radio' gained a lot of success.
Ka Wano - Alex Kasau Katombi
Renowned vernacular musician Alex Kasau Katombi is currently dominating the airwaves thanks to his new song 'Ka Wano'. The song has gone viral on the internet despite being released as audio-only. It has gained thousands of viewers and risen to number 8 on the trending song on Youtube. The singer has been praised by many for his consistency in releasing new songs. The Kamba singer ranks among the most sought-after vernacular musicians in the country.
Blicky - Buruklyn Boyz
Kenyan boyband Buruklyn Boyz has made it to the trending chart on YouTube courtesy of its new hit song 'Blicky'. The band is popular for their drill music which has gradually but steadily gained popularity on the Kenyan music scene.
Buruklyn Boyz was also recently featured in Sauti Sol's 'Tujiangalie' remix.
