Why Shatta Wale’s Upcoming Final Album "Gift of God" is Special

After 18 years in Ghana’s music industry, reggae-dancehall star Shatta Wale will hang his musical boots after releasing The “Gift of God (G.O.G)” album.

This will be his fifth studio album and his last, but it will be special to him. The Ghanaian dancehall superstar recently announced that the album drop date will be October 17, 2022. After that, he will call it quits and focus on something else – mainly his businesses including his Shatta Movement label. 

What makes this album special is the creativity behind it. It is a thanksgiving album for God’s gracious deeds over the years. The project will feature big acts in Nigeria such as Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Joeboy. Interestingly, He will feature his long-time musical rival Sarkodie alongside Samini and Stonebwoy.

To cement his legacy with the ‘Gift of God’ album, Shatta put years of work into it. His 2022 hit song ‘On God’ will be part of the project. It’s a masterpiece everyone can relate to. It sinks deep down the soul with his rugged voice and somewhat, laid-back beats with perfect saxophone sounds complementing the mid-tempo sound. The piano and guitar are the icings on this production. With such a perfect production and reception, you can be sure G.O.G will be a hit. 

Fans are already anticipating the new project and somehow hope Shatta Wale changes his mind at some point. But meanwhile, they’ll be happy to receive the album doesn’t matter if it’s the singer’s last.
