Ofori Amponsah, a legendary highlife singer has broken his long-held silence on his reservations about helping Ghanaian artists.

Speaking during an interview with TV XYZ presented by Agyemang Prempeh, Amponsah says he was tricked by the late Kofi B. Sadly, he notes that the late singer is the artist who benefited most from his assistance.

He says despite the fact that he was the writer of all of Kofi B's major hit songs, he got nothing much out of it. Amponsah says Kofi B never acknowledged him for writing most of his major hit songs when he was still alive.

The same script repeated itself with other artists such as Kofi Nti and he feels his investment in growing their music went down the drain. Kofi B passed away on February 2, 2020, a day before he was scheduled to take the stage at a concert in Cape Coast.

Kofi B had a career spanning more than twenty years and produced many singles and albums that reached the top of the charts. His lyrics combine influences from the streets of Kumasi with themes pertaining to marriage and personal relationships.

Hits such as Mmobrowa, Koforidua Flowers ft Ofori Amponsah, Donkomi ft Catro Under Fire and Bantama Kwesi Boakye among others were his biggest hits.
