He is known for his scintillating Highlife tunes across Ghana but Kuami Eugene has political ambitions that will still keep his legacy intact. The ‘Confusion’ hitmaker laid it all bare during a recent interview with Kasapa FM’s Kwame Bee.

The revelation came following a question by Bee if he ever thinks of joining politics given that he enjoys a huge fan base across Ghana. Responding to this, he said that no one should be surprised to see him run for public office in the near future. His passion for the people could eventually land him in politics. For him, a political position means he gets to serve his people even better as a leader and not an artist. Kuami vowed he would work extremely hard to serve his people if he ever gets a chance to do so as a politician.

Since popular musicians like Obour and Kwame A. Plus went into politics after retiring from music, the Wish Me Well hitmaker is convinced he can do the same. The duo set the bar high with their political leadership that only mirrored the perfection of their careers before politics.

The award-winning Highlife singer is signed to Lynx Entertainment and is known for his throbbing hits such as ‘Ohemaa’, ‘Wish Me Well’, and ‘Angela’ among others. The year 2018 was a good one for him as he clinched The Ghana Music Awards and the Ghana Music Awards UK as the New Artist of the Year. He would also bag AFRIMA's Most Promising Artist in Africa award. In 2019, Kuami landed seven nominations at the Ghana Music Awards. He took home two awards from the nominations one for the Best Album and Producer of the Year. He also bagged the Best Highlife Artist in Ghana Award in 2020. The 24-year-old traces his love for music to his heydays. He loved playing instruments in church whenever he accompanied his parents, who resided in Akim. Eventually, music became a burning passion that he resolved to pursue.
