Atemi Releases New Gospel Song "Yesu"

We’ll save you some time. Atemi Oyungu is a lover of love. If you have followed her career, you know that the wonderfully gifted songstress is responsible for chart-topping hits such as “Bebi Bebi” and “Romantic” featuring Nameless. Both, like most of her music, talk about love.
Atemi Oyungu is no stranger to gospel music as she is the powerhouse behind ‘Tis the season, a brilliantly curated Christmas show aimed at encouraging Kenyans to own our heritage and celebrate Christmas in the most Kenyan way possible.
Like many of us, Atemi’s relationship with God can be traced back to her formative years when she sang in the Nairobi Baptist junior choir, then in high school was part of a girl gospel group called TTBC. But more recently became part of the Nairobi Chapel family via Mavuno church where she was an integral part of their music ministry programs with the likes of Kanji Mbugua amongst others. From this foundation, Atemi has been intentional about her relationship with God and has since written a beautiful love letter to God titled “Yesu”.

Her expression of love for God in this song compares to none other. The sincerity of heart and rawness of emotions, coupled with the songstress’s immaculate vocals are enough to inspire any pagan to church.
“Yesu” is the first single off Atemi’s upcoming 3rd album, titled “Mahaba Hewani” which is a complication of songs that put love in the air in every kind of season; from breakups to falling in love to love for oneself and love for God. In this Album Atemi has explored different genres and collaborated with artists like Kagwe Mungai, Wyre and H_art The Band, taking the expression “love songs” to a whole new level. To call this album a masterpiece will be somewhat of an understatement. The album will be dropping soon on all digital platforms across the globe.
“Yesu” will be available on all digital stores from April 12th. Atemi is currently preparing for a church tour in the United states where she will be promoting the song. She will be back in the country in May which is when she plans to drop the album. Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
