'Kishash’ Hit Maker Lil Maina Announces He’s Quit Music

Popular Kenyan musician Lil Maina who is behind the viral ‘Kishash’ hit has announced his exit from the music industry.

The unexpected announcement comes at a time when the artist is riding high with his viral song ‘Kishash’ which has gained over one million views within one month on YouTube.

Speaking during a recent interview, the singer revealed that he has already accomplished his goal in the music industry. According to Lil Maina who is one of the youngest most promising acts in the industry, he had promised himself to quit music once one of his songs topped the chart.

He appears to have accomplished his mission through ‘Kishash’ and is now stepping down at a time when his name is decorated with a lot of respect in the industry.

"Naacha music juu nilikua nimejiambia nitaacha music ile saa ngoma yangu moja itakua number one. Am done, juu nme achieve kenye nilikua nataka," Lil Maina stated confidently adding that will never release another song.

This is, however, not the first time that Lil Maina has hinted at exiting the music industry. Through his Instagram story when a fan asked him when his next song would be out, Lil Maina replied with "I stopped making music".
