 Celebrated Kenyan songstress Sanaipei Tande has been nominated in the third edition of the prestigious Women in Film Awards (WIFA).

The ‘Amina’ hit maker was nominated in the category of Best Actress (TV Drama). This year's guiding theme for the WIFA is celebrating women of character, courage, and commitment.

The objective of the awards is to celebrate the contribution of women to the film industry. Voting which was opened on 2nd February will run until the 14th of the same month. Through their social media pages, WIFA has encouraged social media users to vote for their favorite nominees

"Thank you for nominating a woman filmmaker for the Women in Film Awards (WIFA) 2022. This year we celebrate women of character courage and commitment with the theme "Nevertheless she persisted" Voting is open and will close on 15th Feb 2022," a statement from WIFA read.

Sanaipei Tande is one of the veteran Kenyan musicians who has earned herself a seat at the high table in the music industry. Her melodious voice has graced some of the most successful hit songs in the country.

One unique trait about Sanaipei's music that makes her outstanding, is the fact that her songs never expires and remain relevant for a long time.

In addition to singing, Sana is also an actress and has featured on several Kenyan productions that include ‘Aziza’ and ‘Kina’ among others.
