She may have started small, but Makhadzi is not stopping until she gets to the level of American pop star Beyonce. The Limpopo-born artist says her main focus at the moment is ensuring her sound evolves to reach a globally acknowledged level.

Even with all the success she has had so far as artist, Makhadzi still doesn’t’ think she is a superstar.

"The day I am as big as Beyoncé, then people can say I am a superstar. So, for now, I don’t think I am there yet. I need to keep working hard until I dominate international stages and airwaves,” she told SMag in an interview.

Makhadzi has set a musical footprint in South Africa with her unique sound but she is ready to keep doing it differently until she gets where she wants. She is currently working on new music with Kabz de Small and so much more after a busy December.

Makhadzi adds that she is always ready to do songs in different genres because South Africa’s music industry keeps evolving.

Kabza inspired Makhadzi to return to the studio with her latest Amapiano singles ‘Salungano’ and ‘Connection’.
