Jua Cali Advises Artistes How to Create Long-lasting Music

Veteran Kenyan musician Jua Cali has advised his fellow artists on how to be successful in the competitive music industry and create music that stands the test of time.

Speaking on  Thursday during an interview on NTV, the star noted that the majority of musicians lack patience and consistency. He went ahead to point out that if an artist wants to create a long-term career from his talent, then he or she should lay a good foundation by working on many good quality songs.

According to the ‘Bidii Yangu’ hit maker, the rising stars should not be in a hurry to make it, but rather take advantage of the time they have to better their craft.

He went on to state that aside from patience, musicians should be consistent in the production of music. He explained that what keeps one on top of the game for a long time is producing good songs at a high rate.

"The only way msanii ataweza ku reap benefits ya job yake ni hard work yake. Anyone can see your hard work. Your consistency, una release good songs at which rate... You have to be patient, you have to be consistent, wewe endelea tu kutoa mamuziki. Guys are watching, si ati watu hawaoni. The corporates wanaona, mafans wanaona, ma promoters wanaona," Jua Cali stated.

The singer also dismissed claims that there are cartels who are controlling the music industry.
