Ugandan Artists React to Dancer Eddie Wizzy’s Move to Boycott Nigerian Music

Ugandan artists have reacted to renowned dancer and choreographer Eddie Wizzy's bold move of boycotting Nigerian music.

The 'Tabuka' hit maker shocked his social media followers after he revealed that he was on a campaign to unfollow all Nigerian artists, arguing that they do not support Ugandan artists.

Eddie Wizzy has on numerous occasions recorded himself jamming to foreign music, but he now says he’ll be focusing on promoting Ugandan music.

“Just unfollowed all Nigerian artists on my Insta. Need to believe on my own. I Wanna see my generation in the O2 Arena Next Year. Let's support each other,” Eddie Wizzy wrote.

He also vowed to elevate a strong inspiration in Uganda by dancing to only local content like Nigerians have done.

“From Today!!! Am only dancing to Ugandan music for promos. We need to support and love each other regardless. Nigerians have done enough inspiration. Let's go, Uganda. God bless me,” added Eddie Wizzy.

His statement received massive support from fellow artists like Ykee Benda, David Lutalo and Dream Bouy, among others.

Being one of the best dancers in the industry, Eddie Wizzy has featured in a number of videos, also earning nominations and awards.

Eddie Wizzy's decision doesn't come as a surprise to many as he reportedly turned down a huge deal with Nigerian superstar Patoranking who wanted him on a long term contract.
