Macky 2, AKA ‘Beautiful Night’ Collabo Exposes Jealousy in Zambia’s Music Industry

The release of ‘Beautiful Night’ by Macky 2 and South African rapper AKA has exposed the demon of jealousy dogging Zambia’s music industry.

 Already a big song three days after its release, Macky’s new song drew all manner of feedback most of it being positive comments from fans and industry players. However, it is the negativity by a section of industry stakeholders that lifted the lid on what possibly ails Zambian music industry.

Shawn Kaystar, Macky 2’s manager broke the ice with a hard-hitting post proving naysayers wrong. Ten hours into the song’s release, ‘Beautiful Night’ had gathered 103,000 views on YouTube. And it is based on this metric that Kaystar told off the jealous hearts.

“103k VIEWS in 10 hours!! And then bakapyopyo balelanda fyaupuba! First off do a hit song and then you can open your mouth! Been upcoming for 10 years, you want to be a teacher over music with someone who has been making hits after hits!

“The truth of the matter is, even some of Macky 2’s biggest songs like Lolo Lolo, Feeling, Mami Niuze, Banono etc, some people doubted them or didn’t like them, IT IS OK! Let’s learn to appreciate EFFORT at times even if you don’t agree with what’s on the table! You can choose to like a song or not! But trashing hard work is not cool at all!” he wrote.

The ‘Alabalansa’ hit maker also confessed to noticing how much jealousy is being projected into his work. Macky 2 said he can no longer stay silent about this issue.

“The jealousy is real.. They Can't Pretend Anymore. The Song Has Snakes Coming Out Of The Grass. Lol. These Chaps Really Wish It Was Them,” he said.

‘Beautiful Night’ is among 2021’s biggest collabo songs between a Zambian artist and a high-flying South African artist. It is one of the songs in Mackys’ yet to be released ‘Olijaba’ album.
