Webi: My guitar? Of course. I treasure it a lot. It was my very first instrument to play, made me choose my career path and has made me the great musician i’m today. It’s like my body part!

Airtel Trace Music Star is a mobile music challenge where singers and rappers stand a chance of winning a grand prize comprising of a recording deal with Kon Live, a distributed label through Universal Music Group, and an intense mentorship programme with Akon in the United States of America. The Kenyan winner is Benjamin Webi shown in photo above.

He was crowned the winner of the Airtel TRACE Music Star competition in Kenya a few days ago, will now take part in the Pan African Airtel Trace Music Star competition involving 13 other countries at the end of February 2015, including our closest neighbors Uganda and Tanzania.
