Bobby East has addressed his recent ‘you don’t have to like me’ or ‘do what you must’ statements, noting that they are not in any way meant to disrespect his fans.

The XYZ CEO says that such statements are just an expression of a mind that has learned how to deal with online backlash.

Bobby maintains that over the years, he has had to device a mechanism to deal with online backlash for the sake of his sanity and his family.

Just recently, he told his fans that he is taking a break from social media following backlash after a post where he allegedly rubbed people the wrong way while defending Slapdee.

Slapdee has been under fire for supporting PF party and doing a campaign song for the party. Zambians went out all out on him recently following his AFRIMMA nomination, saying that they would not vote for him.

This irked Bobby East who responded angrily to the fans for treating Slapdee’s shortcomings as a crime. He told Hellen Zulu that he has deleted all social media apps on his phone just to detox.

The ‘Jorzi’ hit maker adds that while he loves his fans and respects them; there are boundaries and his life should and can never depend on what they say.

“It is a very fickle business and mental health and my family and everything like that is way more important. So when I say I’m saying take it away I am not saying I hate my fans,” he said.
