D-Black Condemns Ghanaians' Favor of Nigeria's Music Over Local Content

Ghanaian music mogul ‘D -Black’ has come forth in protest of Ghanaian’s love toward Nigerian music as opposed to their local content. He says that it’s high time for Ghanaians to change their mindset and support the local acts.

D-Black disclosed his disappointment to the local support after discovering that Nigerian jams are dominating the Top 20 Apple Music Ghana Charts. He terms the discovery as discouraging to the artists working tirelessly in putting impressive projects out.

Speaking via his official Twitter account, the rapper exemplified Nigeria and South Africa’s prioritization of local content and urged fellow countrymen to follow suit.

The tweet reads... ‘’Ei Ghana! Our Top 20 Songs on Apple music are 18 Nigerian songs!!? Awurade!!! How do we touch the rest of the world if it doesn’t start from home? Sigh. U guys are tweeting.GH acts shud make better music, blah blah, too known nkoaaa lol. Go take a look at other African charts. U think it’s just Ghana? It’s Kenya, Uganda, etc. The whole of Africa besides SA. And that’s cos Naija has a 90% local content policy. And that doesn’t affect SA because they have an 85% local policy.
