"Music will always be my love and I enjoy it so much. Even when I travel miles away, I still think about it,” she said.

Explaining why she’s not released any songs ever since she collaborated with Jose Chamelene in 2020, Leila said she’s been grieving the loss of persons close to her.

"The song was too big, I got excited but unfortunately lost my dad in March. The next months I lost my brother, my friends, my aunt and then my mum passed away in December. I don't know if people want me to sing while grieving. They should take it slow with me," she said.

In the course of her music career, Leila has worked with Chameleone on several projects, creating debate as to whether she relies on the veteran music for her success in the industry.

During the interview, Leila dismissed the claims, explaining that she’s collaborated with Chameleone on several projects because he is very flexible and easy to work with.

"I have worked with so many artists, not only Jose Chameleone and the fact that he gave me more than two collaborations means he took me like his sister. He is the kind of person I find at any place and tell him to get to the studio with me and actually do it." Leila Kayondo said.
