OPINION: Kenyan Artists We’d Love To See Collabo In 2015
13 January 2015

Collabo – a common style among musicians and performing artists all over the world, both upcoming and established artists, whereby they engage one another in a song in order to achieve different goals. In Kenya, the trend is still the same and different collabos are released very often.
We took a look at the Kenyan music scene, sat down and came up with a ‘wish list’ of some of the artists we’d love to see in one song this year:
#1 Octopizzo & Khaligraph Jones – top on my list are these two rappers and I did it on purpose. We’ve heard or read about this two ‘beefing’, but how nice would it be to see them spitting rhymes on a joint track? Someone help me get these two rappers in the same studio please!
#2 Dj Nruff & Dj Kaytrixx – surprised? If you didn’t know, now you know that they are both Djs cum musicians. Dj Nruff has a song called ‘Juice’ ft Ace The Don. Kaytrixx did a song with Bamzigi (Bachette) a while back and recently with Kristoff (Inakam) under SpinCycleLtd. Well, as much as that's good what i want to hear is a Dj collabo.
#3 Willy Paul & Bahati – Big names in the music industry and the best in Gospel music currently. This would be a perfect collabo considering that they both do it well in the Bongo style genre of music. Even ‘Angel Gabriel approves this collabo if it will ever happen.
#4 BMF & M.O.G – Award winning groups with mad talent on one track; that will be a massive tune! Combined and you have Five artists with different music styles on one song then that’s good music right there.
#5 Avril & Habida – the vocals on this track would be on point. Then imagine the video and all the thirsty lads will vote for it as the video of the decade. Music wise this is a collabo I’d love to see it happen.
#6 STL & Victoria Kimani – the two need no introduction, they are representing Kenya in the international level to the fullest. We all agree they’re both talented and it will be nice to have them in one track.
#7 Sauti Sol & H_art The Band – One is the biggest thing we’ve had in music in 2014 while the other is a star we can’t wait to shine, respectively. If this collaboration ever happened, the closest thing in comparison would be the comet that destroyed the dinosaurs; of epic proportions!
#8 The Kansoul & P Unit – Tell me you haven’t thought of this and I will personally hand over your name and address to the Prince of Darkness himself! I mean, these two groups are phenomenal with what I’d call equally exceptional talent. A collusion of the two would be something I’d stand up my trip to heaven for; for imaginations sake, picture ‘Nyongwa’ and ‘Weka Weka’ merged into a single piece? Mind blowing!
I foresee some of my ‘wish collabos’ above happening soon and definitely the song will be one massive tune that will take over the airwaves in Kenya, Africa and possibly the entire of this blue marble we call Earth.
