Bobby East: I Taught Daev How to Write Music, he Later Became Better than me

Close to a year after XYZ lead vocalist Daev passed on following a nasty accident, his boss, mentor and colleague Bobby East is all praises about him.

In a recent post on his Facebook page, Bobby East noted that he taught Daev how to write lyrics for his music. According to Bobby East, the ‘Never Been Easy’ singer became so good at it that Bobby started learning a few things about music writing from him.

“I taught this kid how to write and then he became way better than me and I started learning from him about structure and melodies...I miss you lil brother every single day.....,” he posted.

Daev was a rising star whose musical fortunes increased fast in 2020 after years of toiling. He was involved in a grisly road accident while approaching Lusaka from a birthday party.

He died from extensive burns sustained during the accident. Most of his music projects that were pending when he departed have been released by various artists that include; Slap Dee, Bobby East, DJ H-Mac among others.

Slap Dee released his last album towards the end of 2020 and named it ‘Mother Tongue’. He said it was a dedication to the fallen hero who gave everything for the sake of the album but never lived to hear it play.
