Over the years, the Zambian music scene has undergone tremendous revolution, with new artistes and different genres coming up. Unlike before when the music industry was dominated by men, female artistes have cropped up and are currently giving their male counterparts a run for their money.

Some of the top female artistes currently making headline in Zmabia include; Bombshell Grenade, Sampa the Great among others. In this article, we look into their music careers and highlight some of the milestones that have made them the best in the game.

Experience

At the age of 11, Bombshell Grenade developed a strong liking for Hip-hop and started writing her rap music immediately. She released her first single in 2016. On the other hand, Sampa The Great started her trade in 2014. Her hip-hop prowess won her several awards in 2019 and 2020.

Awards

Sampa is a big name back home in Zambia and in Melbourne, Australia where she is based. She is a recipient of Australian Independent Record Awards (AIR), Australian Performing Right Association (APRIA), J Awards, Australian Music Prize (AMP), MTV Europe Music Awards and Music Victoria Awards. Other awards that Sampa has won include: National Indigenous Music Awards and National Live Music Awards. Bombshell Grenade prides in bagging a Kwacha Music Award and MTV Base listing.

Bombshell is currently working on her first album that will be released under Nexus Music Entertainment. Sampa The Great has two studio albums to her name; The Return and Birds and the Bee9.

Sampa enjoys 108,000 YouTube subscribers. Bombshell Grenade has 6.65K YouTube subscribers.

Instagram Followers

Sampa has 117,000 Instagram followers while Bombshell Grenade enjoys a followership of 265,000. She is quite active on Instagram especially after joining Nexus Music Entertainment.
