OC Oscillation ‘Faka Pressure’: New Music Zambia

US-based Zambian artist OC Oscillation has released a new campaign song dubbed ‘Faka Pressure’ a head of the General Election set for later this month.

‘Faka Pressure’ has every iota of a political song. It loosely translates to ‘Fake Pressure’ in English.

The song has elicited mixed reactions among Zambians. Some have praised it, while others said it is a flop.

“Hit song, Mulima Chaikete said. King Zadock noted “Hakainde hichilema I love my president,I always for you.” But, Blessings Mwansa said it was a complete fail. “Honestly speaking the song is a flopp. But it will not keep me away from voting for Bally,” Blessings noted.

Samilani Nkhoma added: “Dear Zambians. I think we should find a way of telling MR OC that his musical talent bundle expired in 1990...This song is beyond flop.. In fact its the new meaning of flop.”

With the new release, OC joins a host of other Zambian artists who composed campagn songs ahead of the much-awaited polls.

April, Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP) artists released campaign songs for ZANU PF party. Macky 2 and RnB Queen Mampi released a song titled ‘Aleteka Nakambi’. The song was produced by KMP’s in-house producer Mr Stash who previously worked for XYZ Entertainment.

 ‘Aleteka Nakambi’ elicited sharp reactions from fans, many commending the duo while others simply said that they understand all this is a business and nothing serious. Macky 2 later said that music is a business, therefore, artistes should go ahead and do their thing.
