DJ Cosmo Reveals Cost He’s Being Charged for Collabo with Diamond Platnumz

Zambian artists DJ Cosmo has announced that he has an upcoming collabo featuring Tanzanian music start Diamond Platnumz.

Speaking during an interview on Diamond TV, DJ Cosmo noted that his bid to feature the Tanzanian Bongo star will cost him K250,000.

While the amount seems too high for a single feature, DJ Cosmo says it is part of the much-needed packaging missing in Zambian songs. He notes that this is a major reason why Zambian music has failed to penetrate into other African countries.

The ‘She Aah Bomb’ hit maker argued that this is the reason why some artists have hit songs but never make money in the end.

For now, DJ Cosmo is working hard to raise the amount and get Diamond on the song. They first met in Malawi in November 2020 where they performed on the same stage and slept in the same hotel. This is where he pitched the idea to Diamond’s manager SK Salaam and managed to get to agree for a collabo.

“You should worry more about packaging yourself as a brand than making hit songs…When you believe in what you do you have to invest in it… I spoke to Salaam one on one, he told me make a budget of about K250,000 for a verse…I wanna do it, I’m already raising money for that,” he said.
