Speaking during a recent interview, Vper Ranking backed the existing Ugandan Musicians Association noting that it has been instrumental in shaping careers of many Ugandan artists.
He took issue with Chameleone’s new association, claiming that it has been formed out of greed and other selfish interests.
"An association has to add something to your career and UMA has all the qualities because they have done something in the different regions of the country.
"I saw them in the news elevating and praising themselves about how powerful they were. Personally I wouldn't let someone like that to lead me because it's clearly a wrong path. They are just after money. If you wish the industry well, you do it for the love, not the money, hype, fame or self-praise," Vyper said.

Chameleone alongside several top Ugandan artists started a new association with the purpose of uniting artists and pushing Ugandan music to the international level. Currently, these roles are played by the Ugandan Musicians Association (UMA).
Jose Chameleone had earlier indicated that his association is divided into different categories; the most important of them being the Superstars group which will strictly have artists who’ve made a name in the industry through their music and achievements. Not everyone can join the superstars’ category.
