Master KG & 3 Other Veteran Artists Set to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at 2021 SAMAs

Celebrated South African musician Master KG is among four South African artists who will be honored during the 27th annual South African Music Awards (SAMA). The event will be held on 31st July starting at 19:30 and will be broadcasted live on SABC1.
Here is the full list of the five South Africans set to receive the Lifetime Achievement award courtesy of Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA).
Master KG
His floodgates of success opened in 2019 following his viral ‘Jerusalema’ song featuring Nomcebo. It was a song that sent him on a pedestal that has since thrust him into a new platform not just as a South African artist. This year’s International Achievement Recognition award goes to him.
Lebo M
Lebo M is famed for his golden voice in Disney’s sensation ‘Lion King’. He is an icon helping out talented Africans get onto the prestigious international scene.

PJ Powers
After 42 years in the industry, expect fireworks from the talented PJ Powers. She is known for ‘Jabulani’ hit single that spurred her career success many years ago. Though she is white, she was assimilated into the black culture very fast and has seen the bad and the ugly of the apartheid government.
Dr. Lindelani Mkhize
From a drummer, Mkhize stands tall as an icon for one of South Africa’s largest gospel groups. He is regarded as one of South Africa’s musical godfathers. He has a rich musical background from his Durban hometown. He co-founded the celebrated gospel music group Joyous Celebration.
