VIDEO REVIEW: How Do You Feel About Victoria Kimani's 'Show'?
11 December 2014
The self proclaimed Queen of Kenyan pop Victoria Kimani has had one heck of a victory lap this year with tons of music and television shows. Most recent she showed the world just how much different she is with the uber stunning video, ‘Show’. And with less than 72 hours since it’s release, the video has gathered over 9000 views on YouTube. So let’s see what people are saying about her masterpiece:
“She is a Queen indeed! This video vividly shows why she has gone to places others are haven’t. I love the song but the men in the video behaving so feminine unlike what being African is. I salute my West African families but its time east Africans promote a tune of their own for the beauty of entire Africa.” Stated a big Victoria fan
“I absolutely love this video! Well except the two gay dancers - they are not in sync. Get better dancers next time. Wachana na hao. As for the song, I feel like it has Wizkid's 'Show Me The Money’ tune. But it is a cool still. As for those saying she’s copying others or she’s too Western, let them know it’s called versatility! Get familiar!” aired another
“East African artist should know the meaning of origin. Kimani, my sister, just copy and paste from the west- why? The accent, the dancing style and even the gay element. I was expecting to see different dancing style like lipala dance. If she cannot be original, let her at least copy Sauti Sol. Nice song though!” enunciated another
The Chocolate City signee took things to the next level by featuring South African rapper, AKA and even went an extra daring mile by pulling ‘a Beyonce’ with odd dancers. In my opinion, she is being as creative as possible which I vouch for. Have a look at it and share your sentiments too.
