Tems Peaks at #1 on Billboard's Next Big Sound Chart

Nigerian alt-R&B singer Tems is this week's number one artist on the Billboard Next Big Sound chart. Tems topped the chart after spending only six weeks on the chart. Only last week she was ranked at #14.

The 26-year-old songwriter and record producer is the only Nigerian and African appearing in the top 15 on the chart.

The Next Big Sound Chart is a weekly chart of the fastest rising artists across the Internet. It shows the artists statistically most likely to become the next big sound.

Born Temilade Openiyi, Tems rose to prominence with the release of her 2018 hit single 'Mr Rebel'. In 2020 Tems released her debut EP 'For The Broken Ears' which houses another popular single 'Damages'.

Tems' collaboration with Wizkid on the 'Essence' song off the 'Made In Lagos' album has helped further her fast-rise in the Nigerian music industry and globally.
