Zambian radio station Komboni has banned all artistes affiliated to Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP) from being played on its platform.
This follows the release of political songs by a section of KMP artistes led by Macky 2.

Reports indicate that Komboni radio is keen on remaining independent, and does not want to be seen as picking sides in the upcoming election by playing music supporting specific cnadidates or parties.
Macky 2 and RnB Queen Mampi released a new song ‘Aleteka Nakambi’. They are both signed under KMP. The song was produced by KMP’s in-house producer Mr Stash who previously worked for XYZ Entertainment.
‘Aleteka Nakambi’ elicited sharp reactions from fans, many commending the duo while others simply said that they understand all this is a business and nothing serious.

A section of fans said this move by Komboni Radio has no effect because the artistes already have a huge fan base.
We don't care as if komboni radio is the only radio station we have in Zambia,,,,let them stick to kalindula sityopeti #weteamkalandanya,” Isaac Mumba said.
“It will be boring that's their problem the artists are known already and they're making money on their own so it's pointless,” Chileshe Bwalya noted.
