Renowned Ghanaian songwriter and Singer  Gregory Bortey Newman, known in the music circle as King Promise, has disclosed that he no longer writes songs for his colleagues.
The ‘Can't Let You Go’ hitmaker, who has previously wrote award-winning songs for his fellow artists, such as Ghanaian songstress Adina and several others, has decided to put his focus on making and growing his own music.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, King Promise disclosed that he reached his decision of writing songs for his fellow musicians because he needed to invest more time in his upcoming album.
“I don’t really write for people anymore. It’s been a minute since I wrote for someone. I just took a chill on that one. I just want to focus on my upcoming album,” he stated.

He further said that the last time he sat down to write a song for another artist was way before the Covid-19 Pandemic broke out.
“First of all I will have to like you or be a fan of your music before I can go to the studio to do something with you,” he said.
Currently, King Promise is promoting his newly released song dubbed 'Slow Down' produced by the award-winning producer Killbeatz.
