Ghanaian self-acclaimed dance hall king Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, better known by his stage name as Shatta Wale, has been eulogized by fast-rising Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist Renner.
Speaking in an interview with the Power Entertainment Show on Power 97.9 FM on Saturday 26th May 2021, the 2016 and 2017 best female vocalist in the central music awards scheme disclosed that Shatta Wale played a significant role in bringing her to the limelight.

She further listed names of artists who have greatly influenced her music as Shatta, Samini and Stonebwoy, but said that she loves shatta Wale more.
“I like them all. I like bits of their lifestyles but I like Shatta Wale more… I say I like those who like me,” she said.
When asked to clarify what she meant by “I like those who like me?” she responded by saying that, other than being her role model, Shatta Wale has always shown her love and support even though they are yet to meet in person.

“If anyone shows you love I think you should show it back… We’ve not met but the love he showed me and the cover I did that he posted has an impact on my career."
She said that Shatta Wale once did a great favour of posting her video that went viral on social media, making her become the famous artist that she is today.
“He [Shatta] made it go viral… if he hadn’t posted it, it won’t have gone viral,” she recounted.
