Penya Africa's Sauti Academy launches YouTube competition

Starting tomorrow at 9am, Sauti Academy will be hosting a YouTube competition where their 4th year students will be expected to put a video up on YouTube showcasing their talent and also get to market themselves as artists.

Speaking to Natalie Lukkenaer who is the Executive Director of Penya Africa, she shared her views on what they expect from the participants.

“The objective of this project is to help our students to learn how to promote their music and market themselves because as an artist these are essential skills to have. The student who will get the highest views is the one who will be declared the winner”

She further went on to say “we are looking for students who have the push and of course someone who is likable and audiences can easily relate with. As a musician you can’t just sit down and hope for things to happen you need to go out there and get stuff done.”

Penya Africa is also set to have auditions for their artist development program January 4th of next year.

You can have a listen to students who are under their development programme called 'Hart the Band' and see the level of skills they posses.
