Sauti Sol vocalist Bien has opened up on why the group is yet to collaborate with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, noting that there is no specific reason why they haven’t worked together.

“I don’t know why he hasn't done a song with us, when we meet we meet, am cool with Diamond though like we talk when we meet, there's never been bile or anything,” he stated.

Bien also expressed admiration for Diamond on both a personal and business level, saying that he is a brilliant individual who has leveled up artistry in the East African region.

“He is brilliant; I admire Diamond from here to the end of the world. I just feel like he is someone who really went for his dream unapologetically and the stride he’s done. Like Diamond working hard also makes me look good as well. Coz the level in which he’s put artistry in this region allows us to also charge ‘simnalipanga huyu jamaa hii, ee pia sisi mtatulipa hizo doo’ you know.

“…His existence is so vital. And also as somebody who is running a label, watching him run business how he does business, allows me to think for the future of my label, positively, negatively however you wanna look at it,” he added.

Answering a question on whether he or the group charges for collabos, Bien expressed that they do not charge nor get charged for collaborations. He also expressed that the group has already made a precedent to develop a relationship with an individual before collaborating.

“I don’t charge for collaborations, I work with people I want to work with. Because you know when I do these collabos and all these things, I think in my head that I’ll have to sing these songs when I am old. So it has to be a song that I like. I have never charged, and that’s why I think for all these collaborations that are international, we have never had to pay for anything like it’s always a heart to heart. And we have built that precedence over the years, so we don’t pay for collabos, me I work with someone when I have met them, coz you can work with Rihanna, then she doesn’t post the song ama she posts it twice, then that’s it, you've spent a million dollars,” he expounded.
